Alan Weinberger, Partner
Alan Weinberger has had a remarkably diverse and varied litigation practice ranging from FAA cases representing airport authorities pertaining to runway protection zones to injunction relief related to riverboat casino operations. Mr. Weinberger provides extensive experience in toxic tort and products liability litigation, particularly with respect to over the counter medical devices and drugs, and multidistrict litigation. However, his greatest specialty lies within the practice of environmental law. His extensive experience includes trial and appellate work in the Clean Water Act, hazardous waste disposal, occupational lung disease such as asbestos and silica, and insurance coverage involving long-tail coverage claims. His approximately 35 years of litigation practice have allowed him to gain substantial experience in labor law, lender liability, gaming law, oil and gas litigation, and medical malpractice as well. His clients have included fortune five hundred companies, oil and gas exploration companies, political subdivisions, and insurers, including the London Market.
Mr. Weinberger takes pride in his particular experience in all facets of federal practice, as evidenced by his admission to the bar of the United States Supreme Court. He has extensive experience in the admission of complex evidence, particularly medical evidence, and the practice of Daubert/Kumho motions.
Mr. Weinberger is a member of the American Bar Association, DRI, the Louisiana Association of Defense Counsel, the New Orleans Association of Defense Counsel and the New Orleans Bar Association. He was named a Fellow of the Louisiana Bar Foundation. Mr. Weinberger is a frequent lecturer on environmental, toxic tort, and insurance coverage matters. A native of Puerto Rico, Mr. Weinberger received his Bachelor of Arts degree, cum laude, from the University of Texas and his Juris Doctor, cum laude, from Tulane University School of Law.
